At the outlet of Lake Traunsee, the residential project K7 Apartments & Boathouse emerged, characterized by a prime waterfront location and a sensitive historical setting. The architectural design carefully translated the typology and proportions of the old mill building to preserve the site's tradition. The goal was to create serene and clearly defined structures. The contemporary facade seamlessly integrates into the historic city center. The Traun promenade has been preserved as a recreational oasis, welcoming cyclists and pedestrians. The color and material concept harmoniously blends the new construction into the cityscape of Gmunden. The building, executed in reinforced concrete and adorned with a coarse plaster, exudes both robustness and aesthetic appeal.
The 16 apartments spread across two full floors and two attic levels offer each resident a balcony or rooftop terrace with views of Lake Traunsee. These retreats seamlessly blend nature with modern living comfort. Beneath the apartments on the ground floor lies the heart of the project – the boathouse. Inconspicuously extending into the embankment from the sidewalk, the garage accommodates 20 berths for motorboats, providing exclusive access to the water and creating a unique quality of life along the shores of Lake Traunsee. The eye-catching elements in the boathouse are the visible bored pile walls combined with the wooden jetty.
