ConceptSimple Space Requirements | Complexity of Circulation | Innovative Roof and Canopies Are the three main components that preoccupied our design brainstorming, keeping in mind that General Safety Regulation and Green Thinking are becoming a built-in package in any design methodology. • Our concept in this alternative has opted for expressive architecture [Functionalism], where massing shapes reflect the function and space use behind it. • A simple building, easy to execute, and nice to use. • An innovative Canopy/Portico to assert a cohesive entity that appeals to everyone assuring its presence artistically… It is Simply a LANDMARK. • We have worked on the idea of modular “portico” system, that we can add or remove one, depending on the Land size.The portico elements help to define a clear space use: petrol pumps POS, substitute the columns with less point…to free the space. • The canopy design in our proposal to portico, creates an interesting streetscape, quality of space, contributing to a well defined street alignment asserting its presence PROUDLY as a new branding feature.Green Architecture Our green thinking in this alternative resides in:• Using landscape areas effectively to improve the overall environmental and visual quality of the space.• Providing alignment trees, shrubs selection taking into consideration their tolerance to the site conditions [heat, water consumption…road traffic] giving preference to native species of each region…• Preserving permeable surfaces [eco-friendly]Therefore the adoption of porticos has two advantages:• A remarkable site coverage to collect as much as possible falling rainwater• To act as a double roof skin helping to protect direct sunrays on the service building roof
