The key parameters for us are the significance of the building in terms of its urban, historical, and social context, as well as compliance with the competition jury's recommendations for our design. The main elements that have been changed include: the height of the new dormitory at the back of the plot (Building M), the retention of the dining hall building (Building T), the raising of the pavilion in front of the Jowita building, which houses the Student Activity Center (Building A), and the retention of portions of the entrance roof and the ground floor roof in front of the Jowita building.
The design has been supplemented with elements demonstrating the feasibility of the structural and installation solutions, compliance with the principles of building physics, and acoustics. All proposed changes are intended to enable the building's reconstruction to be implemented in a reasonable and adequate manner, both in terms of urban planning and economic parameters, so that the building meets all building and fire safety requirements while adapting to the current environment. All these activities are intended to restore Jowita, surrounded by a new community, to its former glory and, thanks to its transformation, make it a dream space for students to live.
All newly designed buildings draw on the essence of modernism and strive to blend seamlessly into their surroundings, utilizing the language and materials of existing buildings.
