The design concept for this luxurious bungalow was derived from the series of interactions with the client & his journey in life so far. The idea of architecture here is thus felt by “ones journey through spaces and the art of architecture.”
Three principles: Culture, Values & Legacy that the client strived to create for himself, his family & his generations to come, are symbolically represented by three blocks. The function of each space was purposefully categorized into the three principles zoning them to their respective blocks.
The composition of these three volumes is so arranged to facilitate the view of the vast open land to the south thereby forming a court in between them. This allows glass to be used along court side to achieve desired level of transparency & required privacy for private, semi-private & family areas within the house. Open corridors run through the court to connect the lower level and these in turn are covered with bridges above them stitching the volumes at the upper level echoing the road travelled by the client to knit his desired principles together.
The entire assembly is elevated to form a podium at court level while the ground floor is used for office, meeting room, family gathering hall, servant quarters and also houses a cattle shed.
