Located on one of Bangkok’s most prestigious roads, JoJo is the prime restaurant in the new 5* St Regis hotel. With detailing and geometry inspired by classic Carlo Scarpa designs providing a strong Italian aesthetic, JoJo has an authentic feel balanced with modern metalworking, lighting and presentation. In the entrance, layers of travertine and leather line the walls, sandwiching custom metal light boxes and providing a smooth transition from the hotel lobby. This gives way to the bar, with equal depth of detailing and warmth of materials.The mood of the restaurant can be quickly changed from a breezy deli during daytime to a highly sophisticated wine bar at night. Menu blackboards behind the bar are flipped to continue the modern lines of metalworking up and onto the ceiling, displaying the liquor and signally a change in atmosphere.Taking centre stage is the pizza oven, on full view to diners and signalling the cultural roots of the food. Custom lighting (also designed by Orbit) again references traditional Italian roots but adds a very modern twist.The design embraces the St Regis heritage and brand, providing an essential new dining experience on one of Bangkok’s most exclusive roads.
