The aim of this concept is to raise the iconic status of the Pushkinsky Cinema internationally. The design incorporates three features: 1. A modern aesthetic facade to the cinema. This comprises of a glass enclave at the front of the building enabling the original form of the Pushkinsky cinema to be visible. The original steps and walkway surrounding the front and side aspects of the cinema will be replaced by a glass walkway at the side of the building and glass ramps diverging from the centre and extending over the road into the public space in front. In accordance with the brief this construction will incorporate Dupont Sentry Glass, a product specifically designed for weight bearing. 2. A tower. This structure has two purposes. The first is to landmark the cinema amongst the surrounding city skyline. The second is to act as a support for the aerial restaurant. It will include elevators both public and service for access. The tower is intended to also incorporate Dupont products within its construction. 3. A restaurant/conference suite. This aerial structure is designed to increase the function of the Pushkinsky cinema making it a first class place to eat. It is suggested that the restaurant be named ‘The Dupont Restaurant at the Pushkinsky Cinema’. It will also include Dupont Sentry Glass in its construction.
