The spatial programme is divided into two levels with the reception and semi-public spaces on ground level and an open administrative floor surrounded by offices on the first. The ground floor is designated to receiving clients and suppliers from around the world. Here, a multi-purpose bar room serves as a place of repose and doubles up as a meeting room adjacent to the reception lobby when glass door panels are slid into place for privacy.
Anchoring the bar area across from the lobby is the feature stairway that leads to the administrative level. Custom–designed and –engineered, the elliptical stairway is fashioned out of steel and as the designers note, “serve to not only connect the upper and lower floors functionally, but architecturally in a visually cohesive manner.”
Hues, textures and materials are juxtaposed throughout the scheme with shades of white, grey and black flushed against the warmth of raw materials such as timber and stone and refined surfaces found in the stark mirror finishes.
