This house was designed for the matriarch of a leading industrialists family. It is used by the family when they visit the holy city of Haridwar.
The challenge in designing for this one-acre site was that it was long and narrow and the brief was to construct a simple but classy house that gave a sense of space and luxury.
Local materials have been used in a creative and colorful manner.
All the rooms are located along a central spine giving a sense of seclusion while allowing for a view of the garden and the courtyard.
Every element in the house was designed and personalized right from the lights to the door knobs the robe hooks in the bedrooms.
