Jimmy Choo’s 157-square-meter flagship in Harbour City, Hong Kong is a two-level, dual gender store that introduces itself with a dramatic double height façade. Shoppers are greeted by the monumental storefront featuring vertical imagery displayed in light boxes and LED monitors. At street level, the façade combines retro and modern design, with rounded edge cartouche framings that provide integrated lighting. Marble and metal layering are deconstructed to give way to the light from inside the store.
Draped in white Carrera marble, a welcoming feature stairway continues the theme of transparency as it wraps around the showcased product. The men’s and women’s sections of the store fall on either side of the open staircase, making the merchandise visible from both sides. The urban Canton Road shopping district is visible from the grand glass window that fronts all areas of the store and custom mirrored shelving units expand the depth of space.
