Sound Management in prayer halls is a tough challenge owing to the scale of enclosed spaces. We faced a similar challenge when designing Pro Audio Solution for Jesus Redeems Prayer Hall at Nalumvadi, Tuticorin. Speech unintelligibility was a major issue in the T shaped prayer hall which is 132m wide and 144m long. OHM experts from UK solved the issue by using a point source based sound system. The team installed OHM's HD-MH, High Definition Mid High Cabinet that produces extraordinary sound quality that reaches the furthest corner of the desired area through its horn-loading design. Also installed are TRS-112HN and TRS-115 Monitors. TRS-112HN's downward tilted asymmetrical dispersion pattern ensures that no energy is lost into areas where there is no audience and it does not excite the reflections from surfaces resulting in increased SPL, clarity and smoother coverage in the focus areas. The 50,000 devotees can now clearly hear the prayers in every square meter of one of the biggest prayer halls in the world.
