ADP worked closely with the University to develop a new state-of-the-art facility to house its highly regarded schools of Forensic and Investigative Sciences (FIS) and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (PAPS).The creation of the J.B. Firth building involved a five-storey extension to the existing Maudland Building. The new £12.5m facility houses high quality teaching laboratories, provisions for fire testing and x-ray machines to support both chemical and analytical classes for the two schools. There is also accommodation for staff and research facilities for postgraduates.Open plan floor plates have been incorporated in the design of each of the highly serviced laboratories to enable flexible usage and space efficiency.Due to become a landmark building for the University, the J.B Firth building has achieved a BREEAM 'excellent' rating.
