The Überseequartier is considered the heart of HafenCity and the Java Haus stands like a Gate Building opposite the historic Speicherstadt. The reddish-brown bricks of the facades wee a source of inspiration for the design colours of the firm. The rusted steel picks up the colour and industrial character of the district. The steel, in combination with sharp-edged white Corean surfaces, is utilised in all areas of the law firm that are open for visitors: the entrance hall, the foyer and the conference room. The selected materials expressing the contrast of the modern, with the traditional spirit of the law firm. On the rooftop terrace Heiko Zahlmann has placed a mural painting.
