The architectural vision of the house is conceptualised as a contemporary stance on traditional design. Driven by rustic textures and earthy forms, the striking design of the house showcases its bespoke an eccentric spirit.
The exterior view of the house is a subtle glimpse of the architectural experience within. The eclectic design manifests on the façade by means of a distinctive materiality. The stone-clad walls of the façade accentuate a vintage expression, against a contemporary backdrop with punctured exterior walls break the monotony of the mass. The finely manicured garden leads to the entrance which is enveloped with lush tropical plantations. The integration of built form with nature is apparent with the foliage surrounding the residence. The balconies of the house appear to be small interior gardens, that are lined with plants on the top of the railing. Landscaping has been expended as a binding element, sinuously fusing the natural and built forms, whilst accentuating the masses and design elements. Arched windows perceived over the rectangular glass doors, emphasise the architectural visage.
The interior spaces have been bound by courtyards, extending the outdoor spaces to infuse into the interiors. Natural light infiltrates into the space, imparting an ethereal appearance with carefully selected artefacts that adorn the complimentary interior spaces. These relics are employed in design as lighting fixtures, furniture, ceiling elements and standalone showpieces. Intricate detailing of elements such as the grill tessellation of the windows, the unique flooring pattern and painting embellished on the walls, cohesively bind the various spaces together. The courtyard has been perceived as the central node of the house. Assembled by geometric forms and bounded by tall climber walls, the space brings the entire design to life. An interpretation of a classic courtyard, this space is characterised by a central green element, geometrically positioned to imitate the symmetry of a traditional courtyard. The services have been concealed under a podium garden, in the basement along with car parking.
A neutral material palette with earthy undertones has been devised. Clad in stone, the raw textured walls compliment the soft tints of the floors and ceilings. Exquisite hand-picked installations rest in-between niches on the wall, breaking the monotony while preserving design ideology. The antique furniture rests on carpeted floors, complimenting the regal design sentiment.
