This project was the renovation of a 1600 square foot existing commercial storefront into the flagship store for the Jake clothing company. Located in the heart of the Rush Street shopping district it became vital to the client that the project be prominent yet simple. The large 9' x 7' glazing expanded the existing display area giving view deep into the shop. Due to the accelerated ten week schedule Perimeter Architects approached the design as a series of large gestures. Storefront, planter, cash wrap, and soffit as spatial divider were kep architectural control points. The facade is Brazilian wood and glass with a deep display area and a small lush planter box.
