This house was completed through the recovery of certain parts of an old house, yet is mostly new because the shell was in very poor condition. The house is spacious, transparent, and open to the garden. It was built on a platform and the garage is slightly lowered to allow for a three-story house to take advantage of extraordinary views.
The ground floor is divided into two parts. The first one is the social area; the living and dining rooms connect to the garden and lead to a second, more private space by the terrace: the kitchen and the family room. The idea was to separate the house slightly but incorporate it through the exterior space.
The second level contains the children’s bedrooms with a direct view to the garden, the double-height space communicates with the hallway which can also be closed to give privacy to the family area.
The third level divides the roof in two. On one side the self-sustaining system equipment is located and on the other a roof garden with an amazing view. It is a completely private space and totally open to the landscape; it focuses the view to a heavily wooded area of the city. The master bedroom features a sitting area, a sleeping area, a spacious bathroom and dressing room, and a terrace for relaxing.
