IWA is a conceptual digital art museum proposal that envisions the future of museums as dynamic, evolving spaces responsive to contemporary influences. It emerged from research into global curation practices and the impact of private freeport museums on art display and monetization, examining the division between public/private and free/chargeable art. The project also addresses the unique curation needs of NFTs, challenging traditional museum design.
A key aspect of IWA was the dialogue between the designer and OpenAI’s ChatGPT 2.0. Engaging with the AI, the designer explored how machine learning could address the challenges of creating a museum for digital NFTs. These conversations revealed that the physical presence of the museum is essential, challenging traditional binary categories and emphasizing the need for both digital and physical elements in the museum design. The insights gained from these dialogues guided the creation of a museum that transcends binary distinctions and integrates the digital and physical worlds, advocating for art to be free, accessible, and visible.
