Ivoclar
Vivadent’s office is located in the financial district of Mexico City, on the
14th floor of a new office building. Ivoclar Vivadent is a company that
produces, commercializes and sales dental equipment.
The design concept is a result of a comprehensive study and understanding of
the client’s philosophy, their work, products and services. The proposal is an
architecture that generates and reflects cleanliness, hygiene, clarity, purity,
order, technology, modernity, functionality, and beauty. The general program
and organization called for meeting spaces, management and operations offices
as well as a fully equipped lab for dental equipment testing, showcasing and
training. It is a journey guided by sales, marketing and finances, inviting the
visitor inside the world of training and production of specialized dentistry.
Being a design-build firm, Arquitectura en Movimiento Workshop approached
the construction in three phases, meeting both deadline and budget thanks to a
chirurgical in situ coordination.
Large open areas are oriented in a way that artificial lighting and air
conditioning are minimized for most of the day. There is a green island (oasis)
at the entry, a planted slope that welcomes visitors with the extra gift of a
majestic view of the city of México as a backdrop.
A careful selection of materials resulted in a combination of innovative,
certified materials, chosen under a strict sustainability criteria. A
PVC-stretched ceiling at the operations areas distributes the light evenly,
interrupted only by geometric cones that descend into the open spaces and house
technical installations such as focussed lighting, surround sound system and
fire-fighting devices. The uncomplicated installation of the stretched ceiling
is part of a straightforward overall maintenance of the offices. A balanced
combination of function and beauty is achieved and the users and visitors enjoy
a truly comfortable environment that is both healthy and efficient.
