Located in the centre of a disused lake and surrounded by a roadway and large eucalyptus, the Ivanhoe Grammar Administration building responds to a Client brief that called for a modern and striking first impression for visitors to the School.
The selection of a dark brick contrasts with the large variety of different materials used on campus. The glazed black bricks indicate entry points in the middle of both north and south elevations where the bricks gradually diminish to a matt finish towards the corners. The walls then become patterned markers flanking a large canopy roof, lined with custom printed metal panels, contrasting strongly with the dappled brickwork and surrounding foliage.
