The keyword of the way to work is realization of “Freedom”. This is a practice of office construction that change productivity innovatively in Japan. For that, ITOKI gave workers self-discretion and constructed the office incorporating Activity Based Working (ABW) to work with high productivity. In the preliminary survey, we observed workers behavior deeply and analyzed them activities. From the definition of activities as the office, we thoroughly pursued the space to support it, then designed it. Feature of space supporting these activities is the focus on the way people work. We planned a large number of private rooms such as “Mind-fitness room” to relax and “Solo-focus room” compared to conventional office has. Furthermore, these activities in office can be analyzed by personal smartphones any time using sensing-technology. And we made an original system that allows you to always look at your own way of working any time. We took measures for the office environment based on “WELL Building Standard©” such as water, air, sound and so on. It is a big feature that a high approach to mental and physical health not only physical efforts. (Achieved Gold class preliminary certification) ITOKI created a platform the first that multiplies “ABW” and “WELL Building Standard©” in Japan, and constructed the office that enables next-generation workstyle practices using IoT technology.
A name of the office is “ITOKI TOKYO XORK”. The initial letter of WORK changes to the next alphabet X, means the challenge toward the next workstyle.
