In one of Greece’s most beautiful island locations a traditional stone house is ready again to welcome its guests. Launched in August 2022 the I Love You More Than My Luggage Townhouse (ilymtmltownhouse) has been designed as the owners personal guest accommodation and exudes an original, relaxed and comfortable style while maintaining its historic character.
86 square meters of spacious living space over two floors. Light filled with views over the neighborhood and the mountains to the east. Maintaining elements that had been hand crafted during the buildings original construction circa 1920, was a challenge, but has resulted in that precious handcraftsmanship traveling through time.
The two bedrooms are located on the first floor and are interconnected by a bank of traditional internal windows, letting sun light travel through the whole floor. Close attentions was given on restoring original timber flooring and preserving its natural wood color. The timber ceiling was repaired and highlighted by installing hidden lighting concealed by handmade replica timber framing. The master bedroom includes a sitting area and access to a full width balcony. The balcony is beautifully covered by the traditional overhang of the second floor.
Upstairs the second floor contains the large open plan living and dining space with open access to the adjoining commercial kitchen. A large airy and bright bathroom is located off the hallway at the top of the stairs where there is also a small library space. The open plan living, and kitchen and main bathroom reflect a contemporary lifestyle with new wide pine timber floorboards, timber ceiling and specially crafted replica shutters and double-glazed windows. The handcrafted industrial kitchen is highlighted by a huge splash back of 1.2 meter square tiles. Unique tiles and lighting have also been used in the bathroom and additional WC to create a rich and elegant ambiance.
Each room has been meticulously designed and decorated with furnishings and original artworks from around the world, bonding the local character of the building with the international spirit of the new owners.
