This gut renovation and relocation of the Wright Center on Aging provides new ambulatory geriatric services within NYPH’s Payson Pavilion wing. The new Center will be a preeminent geriatric care facility, enabling improved clinical services for the physical, psychological, and social work needs of its ambulatory patients and their families and caregivers. Expansion of clinical services includes Palliative Care and Telehealth medicine. Geriatric practice interns and fellows will be able to further their research within the clinic.
Within a narrow footprint, the reception area and Exam rooms are located at the perimeter to maximize access to natural light; with clinicians' workspaces situated within the center aisle. From the reception area, views to the bright, south-facing solarium facilitate intuitive wayfinding. The reception / check-out desk is located to the side, configured to allow staff direct visual access to waiting patients, while optimizing patient privacy for check-in and check-out procedures.
