WE bronx
WE bronx allows all citizens and neighborhoods to garden the Grand Concourse. Rather than limit the movement to adjacent neighborhoods, all households are invited to the three-step process:
a. mail 1 flat, ready-made box to every household (463,212)in the bronx:
green boxes to West bronx
blue boxes to East bronx
b. household : fold box, fill with soil & seed of choice
c. “plant” box along given section of the grand concourse.. the mixing of W & E boxes form a concourse scape of WE bronx
The boxes (10"x4"x4" when folded) tesselate the Bronx in a pattern determined by the inhabitants, therefore the project becomes extremely valuable to all involved in the act of gardening. Walking down the street, the green & blue boxes symbolize the at of giving and sharing, a lesson which is ageless.
