The first challenge in the construction of this elegantly designed project was in meeting the client’s budget without sacrificing the ambitious design intent of the architect. Achieving the affect of open, interlocking volumes to the rear elevation required a massive two storey portal frame which had to be craned over the existing house.
Employing large scale commercial construction techniques on a relatively small residential project required skill and care to ensure safety and amenity
was maintained in the local environment
during the process.
As images show, there was an incredible amount of intricate detail in all elements of the internal and external finishes. Working these zero-tolerance, prototypical designs into an out-of-plumb-out-of-levelout of square Federation building required patience, innovation and cooperation on
the part of the site team who continued to
assist the architect with advice to ensure the project goals were met.
