This 260,000sf tenant improvement is a four-phase project that expands a San Francisco Waterfront campus for a global technology company. The goal of the project is to develop a design language that ties San Francisco's urban context into 15 floors of a high-rise structure overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The scope of work entails the design of open work environments and team offices, visitor spaces, huddle and phone rooms, lounge areas, tech support spaces, conference rooms, and a host of amenity spaces that feature fitness, massage, meditation, gaming, music, and wellness. A 6,000sf full-service café with associated kitchen and back of house function, reception and MDF were included in the recent Phase 1 construction. One of the major accomplishments of the project so far in Phase 1 was realizing a critical client goal to have users take ownership of their workspace. The challenge with the project was achieving this on such a large scale and in a vertical, urban campus where departments and users are divided by multiple floors. Commissioned artwork in feature areas help to personalize space and achieve this goal. The design provides ample flexibility and focuses on user comfort at a variety of scales, from group to individual settings.
