The consolidation of information technology has brought a series of dramatic changes in almost all areas of contemporary culture; as a result, the way we operate in our physical and cultural environment has to be re-considered in view of the processes induced by the electronic paradigm. In this sense, the cities and architecture can be subject to more dynamic scenarios than experienced ever before, forcing new speculations on how to engage the city dwelers with the urban context. Art is probably one of the most stimulating human disciplines that allow such creative process.
Contemporary art has often engaged with the urban environment and has provided an invaluable feedback to the architectural field. These issues originated the idea of producing an architecture that enables constant transitions and interacts with its context within the subject of an art center.
