The Inspira Vineland Medical Center lobby in Vineland, New Jersey has undergone an impressive remodel by DRK & Associates, Inc and designed by InDesign Studio. The renovation project incorporated a variety of enhancements, including the installation of multiple backlit laser cut column covers manufactured by Móz Designs. Móz Designs is known for providing domestically sourced materials and operates a solar-powered factory in Oakland, California, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices. These column covers, inspired by biophilic patterns, along with their warm backlit illumination, create a serene and calming atmosphere within the traditionally sterile healthcare setting. They prioritize the comfort of patients right from their entry into the Center and tastefully transform structural elements into inviting design features.
These backlit column covers serve as a refined alternative to conventional columns, adding aesthetic appeal while maintaining durability and cleanliness in the busy medical environment. Furthermore, the renovation features a prominent divider wall at the lobby entrance, made with privacy partition resin panels. The feature wall behind the new reception desk and matching divider walls in the seating areas incorporate custom laminated glass panels. The resin and glass panels were manufactured by 3Form, which is renowned for their focus on design methods and manufacturing processes that conserve and restore the planet.
The addition of a newly-constructed coffee bar completes the revitalized lobby, ensuring patients and health care workers have access to convenient refreshments. Together, these elements work harmoniously to create an intimate and welcoming environment for patients, seamlessly connecting to the inviting and organic design of the space.
