Raven Tech, one of the most innovative companies in China, came to We Impact with the proposition for a space and a branding system for their rapidly growing team and brand.
Sharing similar innovative and entrepreneurial DNA, being cutting-edge, constantly pushing the boundaries and pursuing most sophisticated high-end design one possibly can, We Impact and Raven Tech sparked chemistry right away. We understood the client’s need to expand and grow, and set out for a journey for the solution to provide a brand and new office design for the rapidly growing company.
A place for talents to shine: Starting with a team of ten, Raven Tech created a unique path of their own and soon grew over 50 staff after the young founder and his team graduated from the Y Combinator in San Francisco. Cut-throat competition in the tech world constantly reminds them the value each individual mind holds in the team and they had to differentiate themselves through their work environment and the values of the brand to attract the best talent. To motivate the behaviour of sharing and individual recognition, we designed a podium in the office equipped with motion sensors and integrated automatic lighting system. The presenter simply steps onto the podium, triggers the motion sensor and the lights will dim gradually throughout the entire open work space while the light above the presenter comes on. This transform the office into a theatre. Equipped with mobile projection screens which also functions as whiteboards, they can then pitch their ideas to the entire company with a focussed 5 min presentation.
Artistic subjectivity:
Being in a space without art, to the founder of Raven Tech, is like a tank-full of fish gasping without a drop a water. We upgraded the traditional reception area into a modular gallery space with mobile reception desk, translucent projection screens and gallery-grade lighting. The space can be easily transformed into an art gallery to exhibit Raven Tech’s latest prototype, art works by their designer team which is highly encouraged by the founder, and host industry talks and events without intruding the regular work area. This idea is proved popular when Raven Tech opened its doors to the guests of its first gallery viewing in October 2015.
Collaboration with a design flare:
There is no doubt towards the importance of whiteboards/writable surfaces in the modern office. We designed two sets of full-length reinforced glass screens on tracks, easily movable and can be safely operated daily. The grey / brown tinted glass boards blend perfectly into the overall colour scheme of the space with dual functionality of projection screen and whiteboard.
Second to none sustainability credential.
Based in Park View Green, which is a Platinum LEED certificate development, very few in the world, let alone in China, means the sustainability credentials of the office are second to none. We integrated that into our design concepts and our thoughts about how we design an office of the future.
