Students were given an empty lot in the industrial sector of Baltimore, Maryland and were instructed to design an academy, or somewhere scholars could collectively meet and share thoughts and ideas. The driving factor behind this design is the idea of the “french passage”, or an active corridor, and how it connects the public to the academy and the garden behind. Four levels all prove to interact with this corridor at some point in the day, whether by sunlight seeping in through its void or events having views out towards it.
