As the location for the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament, Stadium 2 provides an 8,000 seat option for Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The project included about 40 acres of site improvements including a new main entry, a half acre shade structure, all new paving throughout the facility and almost 500 new palm trees. The court is one of the most technologically advanced in the world having all broadcast facilities built-in off court as well as a Hawk-Eye line judging system. From within two of the fine dining restaurants, you can watch a match while dining, an opportunity unmatched by any other stadium in the world. A third fine dining restaurant has only outdoor dining offering a spectacular view of the Tennis Garden grounds and the Santa Rosa mountains beyond. The Stadium building also includes three quick serve restaurants adjacent to the shade structure, four concession stands and a new commissary providing support for these and other onsite dining options. The architectural design draws inspiration from the existing facility, while having the look of a two story building from the adjacent main boulevard, downplaying the stadium seating within. Additional parking for the two week event was created on the 25 acre front lawn, providing an elegant, eco-friendly solution for the balance of the year.
