...Using found pallets, the most basic of structures and a leftover of industrial identity, we will construct a “living wall”. In the cavities of the pallets we will insert green planting and soil creating a micro climate, encouraging community participation and growth.Between the existing wall and the new wall a change in the texture of the ground allows for reflection on this indeterminate moment. The visitor is sandwiched between the decay of one structure and the potential for growth and development in another......Our proposal is a Trompe-l’oeil, French for “trick the eye”; a mural technique involving extremely realistic imagery that creates an optical illusion of three-dimensions in the two-dimensional painting. Our abstraction of the Trompe-l’oeil on India Street is intended to “trick the body”. We have taken the mural and extended it into the corridor, allowing the body to enter the dimension of the mural......Once the temporary condition of the site has passed, the components of the wall continue - each piece with its own potential for growth.
