What might a space of freedom look like, if it could exist within the heart of a city?
Wherever there is land touched by human hands, there is belief.
In Taiwan, temples embrace all who come.
Wanfugong temple, a sanctuary of folk faith, stands amid the vibrant bustle of Pingtung City.
Here,
If the human spirit can be released without fear,
Then this place becomes a truly free space.
An exhibition need not be written in words.
Within the open-air altar on the second floor,
We transform the stories of ten Pingtung-born brands Into vessels that catch the light.
Through delicate control of acrylic’s translucency,
We allow daylight to rest upon each container.
If light had weight, the angles these containers present
Would move like luminous bodies drifting through a wilderness.
At the same time,
We believe the divine belongs to nature:
Elusive, yet unwavering in presence.
We fill the once-empty space with wild flora,
Attempting to return the sacred to the natural,
To a space without dimension, beyond measure.
In the absence of marked lines and borders,
We find another kind of freedom—
One that resists containment.
For ten days,
We let this field slip free from the city’s grasp.
In the end,
People may not recall the names of those ten brands,
But they will remember the light-filled vessels blooming in the Pingtung wilderness.
