Tactical Design worked with the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois in their desire to expand its current facilities, offer enhanced services, and provide facilities for advanced learning and research. The facility will be a crossroads for the Illinois Medical Community. This project strives to achieve a LEED Platinum with the use of Earthducts, Building Integrated Photovoltaics and High Efficiency Lighting and equipment to bring the consumption of the facility as low as possible. The Earthduct system will help the facility conserve in energy costs that are associated with Indoor Gun Ranges and Medical Facilities which require a high number of air exchanges. With this system the need to heat all the additional air is significantly lowered and saves the client on energy costs. The building integrated photovoltaic systems were innovated by Tactical Design to provide the existing building with a new skin that produces energy and conserves energy more efficiently. This building will become a Grid Neutral building where the electrical consumption of the building is the same or less than the power produced through solar energy.
This design has won the largest Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation Grant in its history.
