This is a new construction project for a newly opened cafe in Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture.The site is located on the Izumo Plain, which is connected to the Kitayama Mountains that symbolize Izumo, and the landscape of a tranquil green park stretches out in front of the site.The building is a simple wooden one-story structure and finish, so that it will be a place where you can casually enjoy coffee while enjoying the comfort of the green park that stretches out in front of you. It has an open and simple appearance with a deep eave roof.The openings are north-south, with narrower openings on the north side to create a view towards Kitayama, and continuous openings on the south side to ensure a view of the park and a bright cafe space. There is a porch on the south side, where you can enjoy the view of the park while drinking coffee.The seating area consists of an earthen floor with a concrete slab floor, and a small raised area with flooring that matches the veranda and floor level.Two areas with different atmospheres are created through minimal manipulation such as the floor level and finish, furniture shape, and arrangement of columns and beams.
