Taishi-cho Ibo-gun Hyogo, wherein stands Ikaruga-Dera known for its associations with Shotoku Taishi. “Taishi no Mori” has been built along an axis of the approach to this historic temple.
The gymnasium of an elementary school, earning the sobriquet “Taishi no Mori”, has been planned positively as a public facility.
The traditional colors are arranged for the interior of the gymnasium at various spots, and the gallery overlooking the arena is also designed to commands the outside view of the playground and Ikaruga-Dera beyond, which may attract the residents’ attention in quest for knowledge of the district and its history.
Those eventually result in to promote further mutual understanding among the residents, and friendly relations between generations via sports, which is the final aim of the project.
