The lighting project for Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria de Bailadores church was planned around the idea of producing a landmark in the region. This church is located at the beginning of an important mountain highway that in certain places reaches up to 4000 meters high. The objective of the project was to envigorate a traditional turist region and at the same time to create an attractive element that could provide pride in the inhabitants of the town itself.
The CMY/DMX light fixtures are located in front of the church on 12 meters poles and controled from the town hall. It allows the projection of a vast amount of color combinations intended to create a vivid illumination of the church. The two last judgement angels on the top of the portal are illuminated by LED projectors placed below to create the feeling of dancers. A tribute to the indians that inhabited these regions when the Spaniards conquered them in the XVI century.
