Designed by FRS Arquitetura, IA House is located in Praia do Forte, Bahia, and embraces an architectural approach that emphasizes structural lightness, functionality, and a deep connection with the landscape. Generous openings support
cross-ventilation and daylighting strategies, contributing to energy efficiency and
thermal comfort across all seasons.
The floor plan flows seamlessly, connecting the living room, gourmet balcony, and
kitchen — the latter open to the interior environments to encourage family interaction and visual continuity. Expansive window frames reinforce the direct relationship between the indoor areas and the garden, creating a layout that respects and enhances its natural surroundings.
Wood plays a central role in the project, appearing in ceilings, built-ins, and in
structural features like the staircase that connects the floors. Its presence adds
warmth, texture, and contributes to the home’s thermal performance. Combined with glass panels and openings, it balances transparency and privacy with elegance.
The material palette is rooted in natural tones, with wood and stone used
prominently in dialogue with Bahia’s local context. The décor features handpicked
pieces and personal objects that evoke regional cultural references, adding depth
and authenticity to the interiors.
IA House reflects FRS Arquitetura’s approach to designing homes that unite formal clarity, connection to nature, and functional precision. The result is a project that balances comfort and performance through thoughtful use of materials, sensitivity to climate, and attention to daily life.
