Most homes of this caliber follow the design-bid-build model, where an owner works with an architect or designer, drawings are then produced for a contractor to bid, and a contractor builds it - asking questions of the owner or architect when necessary. There are clear roles for the owner, architect and contractor that sometimes pit one party against another.

We chose them primarily because of their design sensibility and creativity, but we also felt they provided much more insight than other firms we considered.
