Hyde Park Village, located in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa, will be transformed into a mixed-use pedestrian destination like no other. Along with top retailers and restaurants, a majority of the tenants are high-end independent boutiques, creating a unique opportunity to design a pedestrian friendly urban attraction.
David Conner + Associates (DC+A) has partnered with WS Development to implement the plan created by the Smith Dalia Architecture team. DC+A was tasked to create a streetscape master plan that revamps the roadways and sidewalks of Hyde Park Village into a walkable retail and dining destination. Design improvements include charming outdoor site elements, additional parking opportunities, and upgraded crosswalks allowing for safer pedestrian travel and access to the shops and restaurants. The Village Circle, a coveted event space, will be redesigned to have an urban ambiance. The restorative design, including the addition of vine-covered pergolas, will surround the existing majestic trees and fountain, giving the effect of a town square. This treasured area will soon accommodate walkers, bikers, and shoppers in a wonderful atmosphere characteristic of the classic South Tampa.
