Through the addition of a two-story vertical expansion, Hunterdon Medical Center greatly expanded its cardiac services.
The new 4th floor has a link to the existing tower building’s 4th floor, and a nursing unit of 28 private med/surg beds and related support spaces is planned for Phase 2. The new 5th floor houses the cardiac department and includes three catheterization labs with a ten-bed holding unit, a Coronary Care Unit of four beds, and a 16-bed Step-Down Patient Care Unit and related support spaces at the core. A portion of the existing 5th floor tower building was renovated to provide a new waiting area and intake functions for the Cardiac Catheterization Department. The project also includes two new dedicated elevators. In total, the project encompassed 52,000 square feet.
