An outdoor kitchen was designed for clients who spend a lot of time entertaining outdoors. The challenge was to design a pavilion that not only accommodated the needs of the client, but that also respected the view of the lush setting on their lake-access property. The design also had to provide enough space for large gatherings, while still feeling intimate for family dinners.
The kitchen incorporates a pizza oven which is positioned to align with the fireplace of the main house. The alignment allows the solid areas to be grouped together to further maximize views. Interior and exterior living spaces are adjacent to each other which helps maintain the privacy of the bedrooms.
The kitchen was built with durable materials in order to resist constant exposure to sun and rain. The cabinets are stainless steel, while the countertops were fabricated out of soapstone. A mahogany ceiling, which is protected from the elements, adds warmth to the space.
The areas surrounding the kitchen were renovated with new stone pavers, pool upgrades and landscaping. A new dining area and an outdoor sitting area with a fireplace are now clearly defined spaces in the new floor plan, and provide the Owners with different settings for their various activities.
