The ten-year construction period of the Tianma New Campus has enabled architects
to break free from the burden of fast-changing society and constantly review and
observe themselves. In the process, when others followed the tide of the times
and made continuous attempts on various new material technologies, we
deliberately retreated. In the suspicion of all parties, a "Don Quixote" style
Paranoid to explore the traditional materials and save the dying craftsmanship
of rustic terrazzo. Projects are part of the studio's continuous exploration of
materials and construction since the late 1990s. It is a review of the regional
natural environment for many years in the context of local culture. It is also
an antagonism to the contemporary industrialized construction system, thereby
constructing a reference system of aesthetics of materials that is outside the
mainstream and restores the modern ethical value of traditional methods.
Overall, the project dilutes the individual characteristics of the building, and
uses unit-derived strategies to mix single materials, allowing the buildings to
converge and compressing time and space, and creating a tranquil and eternal
site.
