A prototype for a customizable and modular interior system allowing for a multitude of micro to
macro multifunctional spaces. For both residential and commercial purpose. The HUBkit is comprised of three
main components: The shell, serving as a container for a module or
a group of modules. The shell is normally installed along a wall where the
client desires it but it can just as well be placed in the centre of a space
(in that case the installation procedure varies). The purpose of the shell is
to frame the product, to feed it with electrical power and to light it via
integrated LED lights. The module, being the cabinet and its retractable
wall on wheels creating the micro-space. The mobile wall serving as a cover
retracts and can attain 68’’ (172.72cm), creating a total of 92’’ (233.68 cm)
of usable space, including the depth of the module. It is on the slotwall
panels of the module where the components that shape the space are clipped on.
The accessories are the
components clipped onto the modules and consist of working surfaces, shelving,
storage cabinets, modular mattresses, hardware elements, and so on. Cabinet module measures 28’’ in depth x 48’’ in width x 90’’ in
height (71.12 cm x 121.92cm x 228.6cm)
