As a result of the success of a nearby multi-family development, the village of Mount Prospect asked our team to create a plan for a Village-owned site, formerly the location of their main fire station.
The property, directly across the street from the commuter rail station and adjacent to downtown, contains 88 apartments, street facing townhomes, and a corner restaurant.
The use of large storefront openings, steel canopies, and masonry details reference the details and materials found in the former fire station. Changes in brick color, projecting building massing, and subtle building setbacks provide additional scale and detail to this 5-story building.
