The project is an office fit-out of the top floor of one of the largest towers in the business district of Istanbul,Turkey. The design team had previously designed the general office floors, the winter garden and the CEO’s executive floor.
The clients brief was to have a new executive floor which reflected the ethos of the bank and the design of the other CEO /office floors. There is a secure reception and lounge area, private rest rooms, catering facilities, chairmans suite and a number of meeting rooms and visiting executive offices. It is to be sophisticated, well detailed, calm, and create a sense of openness.
The design philosophy has been based upon the the brief and the physical characteristics that can been seen from each facade from the building. To the south-the Bosphorus, the east - the Black Sea, the west -the metropolitan city and the north - the Belgrad forest. The most important room , which is the chairmans suite, must be located with the best view which is located in the south east corner overlooking the Bosphorus and the Black sea. The other offices must be located adjacent to this suite and private facilities. This then allocates the open plan offices, reception and lounge areas to the west.
An important design consideration was the materials and that the floor should have a seamless design transition between the entrance lobby and the reception. Therefore smoked oak timber wall cladding and Cararra mable floor were chosen. This gives the feeling of depth and tranquility to the rooms.
The furniture was chosen to fit in with the materials of the design and so classic modernist pieces by designers such as Finn Juhl, Walter Knoll and Charles Eames where chosen.
