House T is a penthouse in the center of Catania. The former typology is thus enriched with new physical and perceptive elements integrated to interior design solutions and highly technological elements. The new jardin d’hiver is an important addition to the flat as it opens up the interiors to the wide terrace with its stunning view to mount Etna and the sea. In the inner part of the flat shadows and light emphasize an ar- ticulated partition with built-in cabinets and sliding doors to other rooms. The overall idea of open-space – thus incorporating outdoor and indoor - is confirmed by the continuity of the floor covering. White walls and ceilings seem to fluctuate from the dark-tiled ground. The dining area, on the other hand, is characterized by a lively rendered portion of wall. All doors – manufactured by Rimadesio – are conceived as translucent screens. The private area of the flat is characterized by a wood flooring in Doussiè, with partitions and cei- ling still maintain a pristine white render. The well detailed lighting scheme offers different ambiances to fulfill different requirements ultimately creating vivid light edges or homogenous surfaces.
