Set in Valencia’s historic centre, this contemporary building emerges quietly, although completely integrated to the urban plot and to the whole setting typology. The building searches to be part of the historical centre unit. The design has been developed subject to the protected patrimonial setting conditions, including the old building preservation of pre-existing elements as the corner antique stones.
The strong width front shutting wall gives a structural answer and unifies all the buildings constructive elements needs. This wall generates a container where we modelled an internal fluid and lighted volume. All the interior come altogether being solved by the same acting criteria promoting the material regularityand the light sifted by wooden lattice.
The attic crowns the building, by this the roof keeps hanging over a band of glass and lattice. In all the design the wall appears like something else than a room divider, it becomes to life. The handrails and balconies have been materialized as light metallic galvanized steel sheets that emerge horizontally from the wall, contrasting with its strength.
