The
original house was built in 1860. During the decade
of 40/50, the house had gone through several changes,
to transformed first in 8 departments and then in a 2
family house. The new owners, a young family with one child,
needed to accommodate the house and family
home as a workplace for them.
Our design agreed to restore function of the house that had
for its origin.
Creating
and designing interior space are concerned with modifying spaces defined by
established limits. The change may be to add or to decrease elements from the
space, so that the final perception of it is totally different. This is
the case with this 1860 Victorian-style townhouse. The interventions made were
to
decrease the number of elements, adapting the space to the new needs of
modern life and, through this process, to a particular stile.
