The client hoped “A spacious house with a garden”.
I considered the necessary place where is lived as each “units”.
Generally, when I thought square rooms, those will be only connection of four directions from outside.
Then I thought that I won’t be able to plan their request on environment in this time.
Secondly, I considered a circle as surface of “units”. Therefore, I thought those are connected with the outside radically, and will be openly. But the privacy is a little if those are inside, or outside.
Thus, I thought “units” should make square, and those should be connected openly the courtyard only one direction, and those should be arranged radially with connecting each corner, because “units” will be connected the outside while to protect their privacy for this environment.
1. I would like to think deeply about material which is blending in with the landscape, because the location is a farming area with idyllic scenery.
2. A harvest field makes a clod, and make earth-colored. Therefore I would like to hold a respect in color, texture evoking a clod.
3. This house needed continuity of roof and wall about style of house because of connecting an adjoining “units” to each corners. As a result, this house was requested flexibility about materials.
Depending on 1, 2, 3, this house have adhered a grain of sand on bonded materials of glass. And that was used asphalt shingle with adaptable crease performance.
Internal wall
Internal space of this house has a cross-section of house’s style. That is based white not to focus material, because I would like to focus house’s style. I chose cement plaster about the internal wall. A cement plaster has effect in humidity regulation and odor eliminating. And that is human body-friendly, will be developed favorable environmental for human. In addition, I chose that easy to lay on wall by ourselves. Therefore, all of us (client, builder, architect,) have laid on the internal wall. As a result, the client would feel importance of his house.
