House MdS is located in a small village surrounded by pear orchards. Local code prescribed a hipped roof. Crisp detailing in window and rooflines, simple proportions and the even black brick transform the house into a minimalist version of the prototypical Belgian house. Inside however, the typical small rooms found in such traditional houses, make way for spacious rooms. The rooms are grouped around the stairways and connect to one another without the use of corridors. Upstairs, 2 L-shaped hallways pull natural daylight from the façade and skylights light the stairway and bathroom.
