The site is located in the middle of Takanawa peninsula, in Ehime. The project was proceeded with a peaceful atmosphere of countryside in Tamagawa, in the city of Imabari, which is famous for textile industry.
We divided the single-storied house as two parts, “the rectangle plan extending East and West with hipped roof” and “the square plan with square roof in South”. Those two parts are connected by the entrance area.
The Living space placed in the rectangle one has a wide openings to connect with outside.
On the other hand, bedroom in the square-shaped part is close to a street, therefore the architect placed openings higher to prevent a glance from outside.
Although the eave is kept down to fit in the surrounding scenery unthreateningly, the interior ceilings is spaciously sloped to show the shape of roof as it is.
The house, dividing spaces and controlling its volume, stands quietly in the countryside, and it will be tied to the scenery slowly.
